Moving messages from Thunderbird to Outlook Express and Outlook

Moving messages from Thunderbird to Outlook Express and Outlook

“Even though Mozilla Thunderbird is a fantastic email client, there are people who (for one reason or another) need to switch back to Microsoft Outlook Express (OE) or Outlook. However, Thunderbird still doesn’t have an “Export” feature which would export mail archives in a format understandable by OE or Outlook. IMAPSize can be of great help in this process and this page explains how to perform the migration.”

Free Nintendo DS Games!

So you just got yourself a cool new Nintendo DS Lite. Now you need games. Do you really want to go out purchasing games for $20-$40 each? Do you really want to carry around dozens, if not hundreds of game cartridges with you everywhere you go? Of course you dont! Here is what to do.

Step 1: Download hundreds of game ROMS for your DS from the website Nintendo-ds-roms.

Step 2: Purchase a SuperCard DS which will allow you to copy all your ROMS to an SD card and play them on your DS. A 2GB card can hold 128 16MB games or 64 32MB games.

Step 3: Download a FlashMe – DS Firmware Patch / Hack which will hack the firmware on your DS to allow you to play downloaded games

Step 4: Patch the Nintendo DS game to work with the GBA flash card with the software here

Step 5: Follow the instructions on the same page to copy the ROMS from your computer to the DS.

Alternatively, you can run the games on an Emulator on your computer directly, but this doesn’t work for most retail games.

You can reboot the computer remotely into safemode. You can chat with the user on the other end, and transfer files back and forth. You can track the session time so you know how much to charge the client.

Free HDTV for you and me!

Free HDTV for you and me!

So I recently moved to a new condo and we dont have a TV and are not going to get one anytime soon. So I thought I would try to get free HDTV. Several HDTV channels are broadcast over the air for free. And supposedly they are not compressed streams like when you get HDTV over cable or satellite and the image quality suffers apperently. So I picked up a NewPoint HDTV Antenna and a KWorld HDTV USB Tuner from Outpost.com

I headed over to AntennaWeb.org where I found out what channels I should be able to recieve, what type of antenna I shoud use, and what direction to point it in.

In theory it should have worked, but no matter what I tried, I could not get a good signal on most of the channels. Most of them were fuzzy, and I couldn’t even get any HD channels. I have heard of other people getting channels but they were not in Downtown San Diego like I am, they were closer to the actual television station broadcasters.

Currently there are limited options for getting HDTV to your computer from cable or satellite. What you need to look for is a QAM HDTV tuner. Dvico makes such a product but you still can not view encrypted channels which might include HBO and premium channels.

If you are looking to watch HDTV on your computer, it would be best to wait for the technology to mature. Check the AVSForum website to do further research.
