In 2006, still in my 20s, I decided to start my own I.T. business. I had always known this was what I wanted to do, but I didn’t think I would be ready until my 30s. With great trepidation, I headed over to the downtown San Diego courthouse building.
Emerging an hour later, I clutched the golden ticket to entrepreneurship – my freshly minted fictitious business license, inscribed with the title “Beanstalk Computing.” The adrenaline surged through me as I embarked on the very first step of my exciting business adventures.
Walking just a few hundred yards from the courthouse, I answered a phone call. On the line was my friend Dave, unwittingly holding the key that would unlock my destiny.
"Hey Jason, I was calling to find out if you happen to know of an IT company?" said Dave
"You have got to be kidding!!" I exclaimed. "I literally just started my IT business five minutes ago, I am YOUR MAN!"
And just like that, in the blink of an eye, I not only birthed a business but landed my inaugural client. Excitement pulsed through me as I stepped into a world of possibility with a client in tow, ready to conquer the I.T. landscape!
